New to Pilates? Still have a lot to learn?

We're happy to welcome beginners for Pilates in Pasadena and South Pasadena, CA

Gold Line Pilates loves beginners! All of our instructors feel a personal responsibility to ensure that first-timers have a terrific experience and are hooked for life! We all remember walking into the studio for the first time and feeling excited, but still a bit intimidated and uncomfortable ... let the Gold Line Pilates community put you at ease.

There are several ways to start:

Book a Beginner Private Session

The Beginner Private session is for first-timers to Gold Line Pilates and relative newbies to Pilates overall. You will take a deep dive one-on-one with an instructor to learn how to use the equipment (reformer and stability chair), properly engage your core, and organize your posture. The private environment is perfect if you are coming off of an exercise hiatus or an injury, experiencing localized pain or discomfort, or feeling anxiety about a group setting. You will be in capable and compassionate hands! Beginner Private sessions are $60 and afterwards, you will receive another discount for a Beginner Progression Pack which is 3 Private Sessions for $180.

Book an Introduction to Pilates Group Class

The Introduction to Pilates Group Class is suitable for anyone who is not familiar with the Reformer apparatus, or anyone who is new to Pilates. This class helps you safely use, adjust, and workout on the STOTT PILATES Reformer, by guiding you through basic Pilates principles and some essential Reformer exercises, so that you may feel comfortable and confident exercising on the Reformer, and get the most out of your subsequent Reformer classes. The Introduction to Pilates Group Class is $40 and comes with a coupon for a free future group class. Like all of Gold Line Pilates' group classes, attendance is limited to 6 participants.

Book a Level 1 Group Class and Just Go For It!

If you are already reasonably active, and you have no injuries or serious body conditions beyond episodic muscle tension or joint discomfort, you are welcome to jump right in. Group classes have only 6 participants so you will have plenty of attention and assistance. Simply approach the instructor and ask for a quick tutorial of the equipment. However, please be advised that Pilates is complicated and precise and unlike anything you've ever done before. Properly engaging your core requires an understanding of Pilates principles. Jumping right in without that knowledge may prohibit your ability to "get it" and experience Pilates at its most refined level.
