"Erika Bandy grew up in Thousand Oaks, California and found a love of movement from an early age. She studied ballet at Westside Ballet School, eventually joining Los Angeles Ballet for 5 seasons. As a dancer she discovered her love of Pilates, earning her Pilates mat certification through Yogaworks, and beginning her career as a Pilates teacher. She continued her education at San Francisco State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. She returned to Los Angeles where she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at California State University Northridge, as well as her Pilates Reformer Certification with Kristy Tyler and Balanced Body. She began working as a physical therapist in 2018, sharing her love of movement and Pilates with her patients. To continue her education, she completed her comprehensive Pilates certificate through Balanced Body and began her journey as a GYROTONIC trainer. She is on faculty at California School of the Arts-San Gabriel Valley, where she trains the next generation of professional dancers, as well as California State University Northridge where she assists in the Physical Therapy department."
